DESCRIPTIF ET OBJECTIFS

Au fil des années, l’assurance et la protection de l’environnement sont devenus de plus en plus liées. Si les pollutions et les catastrophes naturelles ont été le déclencheur naturel de ce rapprochement, ce sont désormais les investissements sous-jacents aux produits d’assurance vie qui sont désormais soumises aux principes ESG (environnementaux, sociaux et de gouvernance).

L’année 2021 sera à cet égard cruciale, avec, d’abord, une première échéance au 10 mars 2021, pour la publication des informations en matière de durabilité dans le secteur de l’assurance.

Le présent séminaire examinera précisément comment l’ESG sera applicable au secteur de l’assurance et pris en considération au sein des contrats d’assurance vie.”

INTERVENANT

Christophe Verdure, Ph.D., is Head of Legal and DPO at CaixaBank Wealth Management Luxembourg (private bank). In addition, he is also an Associate Lecturer at the University of Luxembourg.

Previously, he served as senior legal counsel in a renowned Private bank in Luxembourg, lawyer at the Brussels Bar and Legal secretary at the General Court of the EU. He also taught in various universities including the University of Antwerp, UCL, Dunkerque, Paris XIII, and Wroclaw (Poland), after having completed a Ph.D. in EU Law at St. Louis – Brussels University, within the European Studies Institute. His doctoral thesis, which focused on the conciliation of economic and non-economic issues in EU law, was crowned by the triennial prize Jean Rey 2013 and published by LGDJ (France).

His practice and his research focuses on banking law, insurance law and consumer law, at EU, Belgian and Luxembourgish level.

Moreover, he published numerous articles and books in his areas of research and is involved in many legal reviews.
